Influencers, advisors, advocates – the blockchain industry is loaded with charismatic and opinionated personalities. In the social media age, anyone can have the chance to be in the spotlight.  While some people try to use it wisely, others seem to be all over the place.

Either way, there is a group of unspoken leaders in the crypto sphere that all of us have heard of at some point. We’ve decided to make our own list of diverse blockchain faces, so the next time your friends are randomly dropping names, you don’t have to google them in secret.

But knowing the opinion leaders on a personal level is another way to be on the same wavelength with the entire crypto world and be the first to know about trends. So let’s dive into the world of influencers! Let’s go!!!

1.  Elon Musk, (Dogefather)

CEO of Tesla and co-founder of SpaceX. Surely you have just smiled now as we have. Elon Musk has been a Twitter icon since 2017. But in 2021, his brief messages blew up the entire crypto industry. He is so fiercely protective of cryptocurrency that even the biggest crypto fans envy his enthusiasm. One of his tweets can raise the price of bitcoin or Doge to the heavens, or they can bring down the prices of the entire crypto market. Many are trying to stop him and accuse him of manipulating the market, but with his massive army of 60 million followers on Twitter, it isn’t easy to deal with. 

Of course, he is both a “dogefather” and a defender of Bitcoin as well as an NFT engine. And now the whole world is watching him without exception. And if your question about crypto is sincere and exciting, Elon will always find a smile, meme or a couple of kind words for you!

2. Vitalik Buterin, (The Lord of the Geeks)

There’s hardly anyone who hasn’t heard of Vitalik. The Chief Scientist of the Ethereum Foundation and one of the top people in blockchain started his career in crypto as a co-founder of Bitcoin Magazine and also found time to work on a few open-source projects. He made it to a couple of Forbes lists and received Honorary Doctorates from the University of Basel.

And by the way, he’s only 27 at the moment. In May 2021, Vitalik became the youngest cryptocurrency billionaire in the world. Now if that’s not impressive, we’re not sure what is. He currently has around 2.5 million followers on Twitter, where he is active. On his Twitter page, you can always find many valuable articles, reviews and comments about cryptocurrency.

3. Jack Dorsey, (God of Twitter)

Jack Dorsey is already a household name. This is one of the most recognizable people on the planet. He did not only just create Twitter, he is also an active engine for crypto technologies in the world. By the number of tweets, you might think that his whole day is busy with correspondence, but after a couple of tweets you will realize that this remarkable person is incredibly charismatic, smart, and highly educated.

If something happens on Twitter, then be sure that Jack has already expressed his point of view and answered all his followers’ questions. He has become a leading voice for more sustainable practices in the industry. By the way, he already has 5.7 million Twitter followers.

4. Brian Armstrong, (Blockchain Unicorn)

Coinbase co-founder and ‘Rockstar’ of the crypto community, Brian Armstrong is a software engineer, consultant, risk manager and crypto entrepreneur.  He has always had a thing for technology and you can often see him speaking at various tech conferences worldwide. He is also known for working on a wide range of blockchain-related projects.

He currently has around 846k followers on Twitter. While mostly known for running Coinbase, he is also a co-founder of the GiveCrypto foundation. Coinbase has been working closely with US regulators in 2021 to push for sensible legislation for crypto. This is one of the most amazing achievements, since now the crypto industry is receiving a wide range of coverage, and the adoption of cryptocurrency requires proper and honest regulation.

5. Andreas Antonopoulos, (The Man who Mastered Bitcoin)

If Bitcoin was a religion, Andreas Antonopoulos would be its prophet. An author of multiple articles, frequent conference speaker, security expert, strategic consultant, and a huge Bitcoin believer, Mr. Antonopoulos has also published crypto-bestsellers ‘Mastering Bitcoin,’ ‘Unlocking Digital Currencies,’ and ‘The Internet of Money.’

He currently has around 600k followers on Twitter and has around 300k followers on YouTube, aantonop, where he posts videos about Bitcoin, blockchain, and cryptocurrency, among others. These videos give an in-depth look at the industry, making them a great jump-off point for beginners who want to have a better understanding of blockchain and crypto and how they work. 

6. Roger Ver, (Bitcoin Jesus)

The person behind and Bitcoin Cash devotee, Roger Ver spares no expenses when it comes to supporting the blockchain industry. Roger Ver was one of the earliest promoters of Bitcoin back in 2011. He is devoted to sponsoring Bitcoin startups, investing big time, and has already earned the moniker of ‘Bitcoin Jesus’ from the grateful community.

On Twitter, he has approximately 734k followers, and his feed has become a valuable source of the latest news and information on Bitcoin and crypto, including issues surrounding Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, ethical considerations, and even the occasional bits of worldly wisdom. What else can you expect from the man known as Bitcoin Jesus?

7. Nick Szabo, (Cryptography Legend)

It’s almost impossible to write an article on cryptography without mentioning Nick Szabo; we know this firsthand. One of the first people who introduced smart contracts to the world, he is a well-known cryptographer and researcher. Szabo holds a degree in computer science from the University of Washington in 1989 and a law degree from George Washington University Law School.

Actually, he has done so much for the cryptocurrency industry so far that some people say he is the real Satoshi. However, Nick Szabo humbly denies the rumor.His Twitter account now has over 300k followers who can see his true judgments about everything that happens in the crypto world. He writes clearly and without nagging, especially if he is dissatisfied with something. You will definitely like him for his fortitude.

8. Elizabeth Stark, (Lady Stark of the Free Internet)

Before Elizabeth Stark co-founded Lightning Labs, she was a developer of the Lightning Network – a layer-two solution that seeks to combat the scalability issues within the Bitcoin network. However, the potential for the Lightning Network to make Bitcoin once again usable as a form of digital cash, rather than mainly as a store of value, cannot be overstated. Also, Stark used to teach at Yale and Stanford, where her students “studied peer-to-peer technology, privacy, open-source software, and memes.”

It’s also necessary to mention her significant contribution to the freedom of the internet during the SOPA/PIPA protests. A woman to look up to. On Twitter, she has more than 130k followers. She is very fiercely supportive of crypto technologies and shows how the crypto industry is experiencing evolution on her account.

9. Charlie Lee, (The Fortuneteller)

From Bitcoin mining to gifting Litecoin to the world, Charlie Lee is also known for his bold BTC price predictions. They don’t usually come true though. Charlie Lee has close to a million followers on Twitter, making him one of the more popular thought leaders and crypto authorities. On his account, you can find many articles on the topic of cryptography, and most importantly, you can be the first to learn about the main news of Litecoin and the Litecoin Foundation.

But besides the smart thoughts that will take you to the next level in the study of cryptocurrency, you can also find funny memes and jokes. One of the most reliable sources of information on crypto and how it works, Lee has recently joined the board of directors for BTCS Inc.

10. Willy Woo (Unreal Bitcoin optimist)

Willy Woo is a leading Bitcoin on-chain analyst. He found several start-ups, including Hypersheet, a simple, easy-to-use coding platform for beginners. Woo first heard about Bitcoin in the startup world in 2013 when the coin was still trading for as low as $50. He started out writing about blockchain and cryptocurrencies for Forbes and Coinbase. Woo is considered one of the top Bitcoin analysts. He maintains a subscription-only SubStack newsletter called “The Bitcoin Forecast.”

11. Changpeng Zhao, (CZ)

More commonly known as “CZ”, this business executive is none other than the founder and CEO of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange – Binance. With an impressive track record in software development and trading for Bloomberg, CZ also found success while working at before moving on to found his own startup.

His Twitter account now has over 3.4 millions followers. Here you can find the main insights in the cryptosphere and very important statements about the events taking place. His Twitter is a huge treasure trove about crypto technologies and you are sure to find something new, even if you are already a professional.

12. Hal Finney, (Eternal Cypherpunk)

Hal Finney was a talented computer scientist and one of the earliest adopters. He was actually the person who received the first-ever BTC transaction from Satoshi Nakamoto. In 2004, Finney created the first reusable proof of work system before Bitcoin. A Cypherpunk, game developer, and an engaged bitcointalk member, Hal Finney has made a significant contribution to cryptography and digital privacy.

13. PlanB, (Prophet of BTC)

If you are looking for a blockchain and cryptocurrency influencer who really knows his stuff then PlanB is definitely plan A. Tweeting under an assumed identity, PlanB draws much of his experience from his two-decade-long experience in institutional investment before migrating to the world of cryptocurrencies and becoming one of its most notorious investors and advocates.

He’s also known for helping popularize Bitcoin’s Stock-to-Flow price predictive model, which has proven to be accurate time and time again. Based on that, PlanB has made some bold market predictions, most notably that BTC will hit $250,000 or higher in the near future. He is now primarily focusing on Bitcoin valuation models, on-chain analysis and investment strategies.

14. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, (crypto twins) 

Becoming incredibly wealthy from their early virtual money bets, the Winklevoss twins have emerged as elder statesmen for cryptocurrency. Winklevoss Capital has become one of the most influential crypto funds. They also run one of the top digital asset exchanges, Gemini. Tyler has about 900k followers on Twitter. You can find a lot of good articles on his Twitter, and he doesn’t write often, but always to the point. His opinion is always used in many podcasts, interviews, and articles.

15. Diana Furman, (Editor’s Choice)

We simply cannot finalize this list of top cryptocurrency influencers without mentioning our CEO, Diana Furman. Diana is definitely an entrepreneur of promise. She has a traditional corporate finance background, but was always keen on tech. Five years ago she had the chance to take part in a blockchain project and eventually got deeply involved in the industry. Diana is leading the Lumi team, a crypto wallet that has already made its way into the hearts of multiple crypto believers. Miss Furman is also a slight perfectionist, and made the big decision to make Lumi Wallet full-time open source. Now Lumi wallet is one of the leading and safe places to store your assets.
