Globalization is slowly approaching, and travel has already become something rather usual for many of us. The only thing that could be improved is the cost, and blockchain might be the right tool to fix that. Although everyone talks about decentralization, in reality, it’s just another fancy word until we see it in action. LockTrip is determined to show what it really means in a real-case scenario: cut the cost on traveling and make it more accessible by removing the middlemen from the property booking process.

LockTrip is a blockchain powered marketplace and technology where hoteliers and property owners can rent their property, collect money and manage bookings without paying any commission to a middleman.

So how exactly does it work?

The prices that they offer are on average 20% cheaper than on booking.comand you don’t even need to own any crypto in order to use it (but there also will be an option to pay in BTC or ETH in the future). Customers can pay with a credit card. Fiat will be automatically converted to LOC as a background process and stored in their smart contract until checkout.

The project has already engaged 100,000 hotels and 300,000 additional hotels are to be integrated soon. But there’s more: LockTrip is about to add more than 1,000 airlines to their system.

The LockTrip blockchain mainnet will be launched later this year

Token

LOC is limited to 18,6 million tokens but you still have some time to buy some whether you want to invest in the project or use the tokens for your future travels. Currently, there’s no lack of exchanges where you can buy LOC, including Bancor, HitBTC, Kucoin, Latoken, IDEX, Yobit, and more.

After the purchase, you can transfer the tokens from the exchange to a safe wallet, where you will be the only person in charge of your money. Lumi Wallet is a classic client-side wallet that gives you (and only you) full access to your private keys and your funds. A combination of high level of security, simplicity, and a sleek design makes it a great wallet choice for both beginners and advanced users.

First, you need to download the app and add the LOC wallet. You can do this by tapping on the ‘Manage Wallets’ icon, type in ‘LOC”, tick it, and confirm. As simple as that.

You can drag and drop the wallet cards and reorganize your collection in the most comfortable way for you.

Among other useful features are crypto price graphs and the whole history of your activity right in front you.

If you wish to transfer your LOC from an exchange, you need to copy the address by tapping on the ‘Receive’ option inside the right wallet and use it to send the tokens.

You can also quickly send your LOC. For that, just click on the ‘Send’ icon and fill in the receiver’s address, check the info and confirm.

Apart from storing and managing LOC tokens, you can buy and sell other crypto like BTC, ETH, and ERC20 tokens.
